When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”  The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad.  Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like streams in the Negeb! Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!  He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him. {Psalm 126}

when you see God at work.

when your soul is moved by the affects He is having on His broken world.

when He hears and responds.

we are like those who go out weeping and come home with shouts of joy!

we have seen the evidence of His power in the two approvals that came in september.

now we are waiting to be filed in court.

here's what that means:

the orphanage staff take our paperwork to local court. (that's being filed)

the courthouse registers our case with a judge, courtroom, and hearing date. (that's being registered)

typically adoption cases take 1-3 hearings, but sometimes more.

the final hearing, hopefully not passed the 3rd, the judge will issue verbal and/or written court orders.

these orders give us full custody of K.

written orders will be sent to the orphanage.

the orphanage director takes written orders and possibly, K, to the passport office to get her passport.

we will be making travel arrangements at this time.

the timeline is all to uncertain. believe me, i want to know when we're going. i'd be happy to even know the month!

i continue to ask you to pray.

for favor with the lawyer representing us.

for favor with the judge who hears our case.

for favor with all other court officials who are handling our paperwork.

for favor with the passport office.

please pray for K as she remains an orphan today.

we are passionately pursuing her as Jesus Christ passionately pursued us.

we are wanting her to be known by us and given a family name just as Christ wants us to be known by Him and called children of God.

the moment we have verbal/written orders, i can't wait to show you full pictures of K and reveal her new name!

until then, keep praying. and let me share a #onlyGod story with you.

the other day i received this note and this book:

"i was reading this book (from my childhood) to my little girl, M. as i told her it was a tale from India, she quickly said, 'mommy, we should send this to K, Ms. Shauna's little girl.' all of this happened right before the denial and 'darkness.' i just hope now you get to read this book to your sweet baby K very soon."

Leslie and M, i will most definitely read this story of courage to my sweet baby K. thank you for this gift.
