2010 School Year Family Verse

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41.10

We started this practice of claiming and learning and applying God's Word as a family last year with Deuteronomy 6.5 as we embarked on the school journey. Looking back, this was important for us as we released Elijah into the public school setting where his circle of influence broadened and wasn't always in our control. And that's a good thing! We take our job as parents and generation shapers very seriously. Home is haven and full of teachable and character building moments. School is the world on a small scale, especially here in the city. Our prayer each morning after we have said our family verse is that our boys will take what they are learning at home and put it to use at school. Kindness, generosity, obedience, self-control, and love.

The verse in Isaiah echoes throughout every one of our hearts in this season of life.
Ben is starting a church.
Elijah is attending public school - city style.
Sam is stepping more into a big brother role.
Asher is learning to discern between right and wrong.
I am trying to create a safe haven for the family.
We are all working hard at making new friends.

We excitingly claim this verse as we embrace new challenges this year. We're all stepping out and thankful He's holding on to us!
