On edge
Who’s not on edge?
We’re all on edge.
Desperate
Angry
Confused
Worried
Sad
Outraged
What’s got you on edge?
What got you here?
What’s your leading emotion?
What do you want to shout from the edge?
I’m on edge too.
Maybe for the same reason
Maybe not
What can have us all here
Might be the same
Might be an issue we didn’t know about
Might be for ourselves
Might be for someone else
Carrying on with our day
Carrying a chip on our shoulder
Carrying grief in our heart
Carrying the next generation
In our car
the stroller
the womb.
Being on edge
Puts us close to the ledge
And all hell could just break loose in us
if we let it
Being on edge
Puts us close to the ledge
And all heaven could just catch us
if we let go
I’m here on the ledge with you
You’re not alone
Let’s let go together
I’ve been here before
The God of heaven
Will catch us
I promise
It’s a better place to be
Mentally
Spiritually
Physically
Communally
The enemy stands on the ledge too
To taunt us
To rile us
To divide us
People being on edge
Is an opportunity to pray -
We let go and let Him
fill our hearts with love.
We let go and let Him
Come close to our broken hearts.
We let go and choose
To pray for our enemies.
We let go and do for one
What we want to do for many.
If you’re on edge today
See this as an opportunity
To pray for those who are also on edge
No matter what.
That we all choose
to let heaven break through
And let revival begin in me and you.

Where differences are evident
And I smile because of it
