A7 {a mercy release}
it's where they call home for now. {the A}
6 girls + 1 boy = 7 children waiting daily for their momma and daddy to come and get them. {the 7}
and there are so many more, but i know these 7 by name and call their moms my friends.
all 7 of these children know our faces and know we are coming. half live in one orphanage, the others live in another. both orphanages are less than 10 miles from each other.
all 7 cases were filed in court last november and december and have experienced a number of setbacks in court alone.
but rather focus on the setbacks, my mind is focused on what's before us.
you speak to one of these mommas for just a minute and you will know how much we long to tuck our children in at night
and sing them songs
and kiss their boo-boos
and treat them to ice cream
and tell them what we've been thinking for years...i love you so very much.
i don't pretend to know why these delays continue.
why we were moving forward with one judge and then got reassigned another who is in training.
but i'm crazy to believe that God hasn't taken His eyes off of these children or these cases.
i'm crazy to stake everything on the hope that He who called us to adopt will complete this.
and it will be glorious.
throughout the court process, i have read over and over again this Scripture verse:
God is a righteous judge, and a God who feels indignation every day. {Psalm 7.11}
indignation is an anger or annoyance provoked by what is perceived as unfair treatment.
another translation says, God is a fair judge, a God who is angered by injustice every day.
we're not the only ones outraged or annoyed. God is on our side.
God is God and we live in a fallen world. it's a very fine line between the two, but both are truths.
while God could sweep through court and knock out opponents and rescue the orphaned because He is God,
the fallen and sinful world exists for now with corrupt powers and authority, with mistakes and setbacks.
He invites us into His story of redemption and grace. He wants us to get involved and feel what He feels towards others.
it's through this journey that I have sunk deep into how much a human can love a human that she's never touched.
Christ has displayed to me through this adoption story the great lengths He has done to rescue me from my own self.
so we ask you to stand with us again.
for a mercy release.
for God to release, unleash His mercy upon our cases for the A7.
Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him. For a people shall dwell in Zion, in Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you. And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. {Isaiah 30.18-21}
and know that your standing with us works. your prayers are fruitful.
in march 2013, you prayed that our match would come through and that our assigned orphanage director would get his license renewal. that happened by july.
in march 2014, you were in the midst of praying that a committee would overturn their denial of k to our family. that overturn happened in july and was issued in september.
it's march 2015, and our lawyer and judge have rescheduled us for this coming friday, good friday, april 4.
a day when they think the judge will be done with her training and can hear our case.
a day when darkness covered the earth 2,000 years ago and Jesus Christ hung His head and declared,
"It is finished." {John 19.30}
these cases have been wrapped up in the heavenly courts.
these 7 children have a name that brings them more worth that any earthly name.
these mommas are dreaming of ice cream and giggles and what that first moment will be like.
we are longing for those court orders to be issued by a judge, who after her training, can be released to set many orphans into forever families.
will it be worth the days and weeks and months of the A7 prayer network to be praying for such a judge? who knows if those that come behind us will have the prayer support that these cases have! but one thing is for sure...
k is one prayed for little girl and this judge is one prayed for judge!
this easter could take on a whole new meaning...so spend some time thinking about what this week was like 2,000 years ago. spend some time thinking about the implications for easter personally today.
