Happy Birthday, Sam I Am!

We gobbled down fried turkey and many other fattening foods after watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and enjoying time with Shauna's extended family. After Samuel's afternoon nap, we celebrated his first birthday. His birthday was Saturday, but Ben had a wedding to do so we celebrated early! At first he didn't know what to think of the cake, but those thoughts didn't last too long. He enjoyed the cake and icing too! He could have cared less what was in the packages for he saw his dad with a football and lost interest in his opening gifts! We are very thankful for those who were able to celebrate with us in person and those who celebrated from afar (Louisiana!!). Samuel is enjoying his new toys, but probably not as much as Elijah! He's sporting his new clothes, too. It's been a rough start to beginning his second year of life here on earth. He had his MMR and chicken pox shots and has a cold that just won't go away. But like always, he continues to smile and laugh and tries to find something to be joyful about...even as a one year old. (Elijah is sooo glad that he doesn't have to say Sam is zero anymore!)
