Southern Baptist Convention: Louisville, KY
It wasn't just a gathering of Southern Baptists for us. Louisville is Natalie's hometown. Mimi and Pops would be there. Our pastor, Dr. Marshall was giving the convention message. We would see many pastors who are partnering with us in San Francisco.
The boys enjoyed day camp while we listened to humble men of God such as Francis Chan, Ed Stetzer, David Platt, and Fred Luter. Natalie took vacation days from work to spend every waking moment with us and the boys. She took us to great local restaurants like Mark's Feed Store and Lynn's Paradise Cafe. While the girls went to the Minister's Wives Luncheon, Ben, Pops, and the boys toured the Louisville Slugger Museum where they each got a mini bat. Asher immediately knew what stance to have with the bat. We were so proud of our church choir as they led the entire convention in worship on Wednesday morning. Pastor Marshall gave a dynamic and passionate message as he challenged us to stand on the Word of God and to do mission for God, whether career or short-term trips. He spoke several times of how Second is starting a church in San Francisco. We are honored to call him our pastor!
Whether it's business or pure vacation, we know how to have fun together. Natalie and Shauna with funny glasses with Mimi. Natalie with Sam and Asher at lunch. Ben putting his head in a teacup of soap at the eccentric Lynn's Paradise Cafe.
