The Sights
"I'm coming out...I want the world to know, I got to let it show!"
That's just what the 4 of us did.
We covered every sidewalk and used every taxi in the city.
Us, sisters, worked so hard on an itinerary that we never really used once we got to NYC!
Oh well...
It was too foggy on the first night to go to the top of the Empire State Building and relive the moment when Tom Hanks sees Meg Ryan.
The night was clear on Saturday night though!
"....Shine like the top of the Chrysler Building!"
Friday began with rain as we tried to go see Regis and Kelly LIVE only to discover they were not taping. We hurried over to Rockerfeller Center to catch some of the taping of the Today Show. Met some gals from Georgia and California. Ate breakfast at 30 Rock. Asked to be in the audience for the Hoda and Kathie Lee segment of the Today Show.
We caught the subway down to Battery Park and took the Ferry over to Liberty Park and Ellis Island.
We had dinner at Nanni Restaurant - a wonderful authentic Italian place. A foodie friend of mine recommended it a few years ago. Ben and I enjoyed this place and I wanted to take mom and my sisters. It's not the place to bring out the camera as the older male servers hoover around the small restaurant and tables. They pride themselves on enjoying those you are dining with and the meal itself. Highly recommended!
Then off to Serendipity, Dylan's Candy Bar, and Bloomingdales from the movie Serendipity!
To our surprise, Elizabeth Berkeley was at Dylan's Candy Bar introducing her new book. You might know her from Jessie Spano on Saved By The Bell. "I'm so excited. I just can't hide it!"
A fun part of our trip was hoping on board the geeky tour bus for what turned out to be, the best way to see the sights of the city! On Location Tour stopping to see where movies and TV shows shoot on location.
Here, the Plaza Hotel!
Sweet Home Alabama and Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Out in front of Hook and Ladder 8 - from Hitch.
"I'll be there for you!"
Outside shot of Friends apartment though everything else shot in a studio.
"...these are their stories."
Mine and Ben's favorite TV show - Law and Order:SVU.
This is the courthouse that is in almost all of the shows.
Saturday night we took to Broadway to see Mary Poppins.
And it was practically perfect in every way!
The trip would not be complete without Crumbs Cupcakes. My friend, Lyn, a New Yorker, suggested these before and they are superb!
