This blew my mind

Friend,

Have I got a story for you! You know I was recently in London and I see God up close every time I’m there. This will be proof. I was there for two trips in one. The first few days we joined pastors from the States, Canada, and Australia and spent time with pastors in London and Oxford at their churches, learning the history and what the Spirit has been doing and might be doing today. Sunday, April 30, began the second part of the trip as I got to host about 20 Northern California delegates who came for the annual Leadership Conference hosted by Alpha and Holy Trinity Church.

As hundreds showed up for church on Sunday, I was doing my best to find my delegates and find places for them to sit. This precious lady was doing what she always does at her church, greeting people who were coming. I ended up standing beside her at the front door as I waited for my people.

“I know you,” I said to her. We locked eyes searching for more.

“Is your name Dorcas?” I boldly asked.

“Yes, it is!”

My mind was blown.

“Do you go to this church?” Dorcas asked me.

I told her I’m from the States and began to frantically search through photos on my phone.

She was patient.

I pulled up a picture from September 4, 2016 when Ben and I came to London for the very first time. I sat right beside Dorcas at Holy Trinity Brompton. It was her first Sunday as she moved to London from Africa. That Sunday, she sang the worship songs so beautifully that I had to compliment her. That began a conversation that led to a photo moment. My regret was not getting her contact details. I’ve thought of her a number of times since 2016.

What are the chances? In our overwhelming reunion, she introduced me to her husband who was also greeting that day at the front door! She had gotten married since we first met!

We were in awe of our Lord. These are not coincidences, friend. These are God incidents. He loves to surprise us! And when He does, just tell him thanks and then share the surprise with someone. These moments have a way of inspiring our faith and causing us to love Jesus even more.

Love,

Shauna
