Confusion or Christianity?

Friend,

As I read the Scriptures, every nation had at least 1 person in Jerusalem during this particular festival that is now marked Pentecost. Because the Holy Spirit came upon them, they were able to understand that Jesus followers were praising God. Get this…the nations listed in Acts 2:9-11 are the one listed in Genesis 10! They were 1 language after the flood and came to Babel to be powerful and God scattered them into many languages. I call this confusion.

Then many languages were spoken at Pentecost and they could all understand that Jesus was being praised and the message of Jesus scattered! We call this Christianity!

When we and/or our culture is trying to be more powerful than God, we will not understand one another and confusion abounds. I ask: why don’t we understand one another? Why can’t we get along?

When we open ourselves up and invite the Holy Spirit to come, He does! Then a unifying thing happens as we praise Him. Confusion has no room and the Gospel message spreads.

I pray this for my city. For the church. Jesus be greater than anything and everything my city and I can value. Show your power in this place. Let us know You are God. The strong winds that have blown through San Francisco. The abundant amounts of rain. Now the abundant green hills. You are showing off. Open up the eyes of the people to see You are great and greatly to be praised. Come Holy Spirit. Dwell among us. Unify Your church. Give us one voice to make You known.

Praying for you and where you live,

Shauna
