The Ministry of Time
Friend,
I’m asking myself today, do my days and weeks lead to what I want my life to be about?
Truth is I want to do it all. To be able to do it all. To have time to do it all. To be accomplished. To get the work done I set out to do each day. Full disclosure - I’m often left dissatisfied as I am reminded by the end of day I put too much on my plate that is humanly impossible and set myself up for failure. So let me get to the bottom of it all by setting aside my agenda and my impossible task list.
What I really truly want is to bring others to Jesus. If I get right down to it and you were to strip away all my tasks and agendas, yes, that’s what I want. So if that’s what I want, how about I start with that at the top of my task list, my daily calendar and build my day around that? From errands to meetings to my family, I want to bring others to Jesus. I have to give myself grace. Receive His grace. Slow down and give them the ministry of time. Not all my time. Not all people will want it. So God, I give you my first of time and ask You to show me.
And as I give the ministry of time to someone today, I stop thinking and start listening. I sit with them. Listen to what they have to say. I look at them. I honor God as I honor this person. They are worth my time. God is with us giving us His ministry of time. If God has the time to be with me, to be with us, and He has lots going on, surely I can give my finite time away today.
Learning to be a time minister,
