Play-doh love

Friend, 

If I had two colors of play-doh - one in each hand, I would tell you one represents plentiful rest and the other represents meaningful work. I love both. Do you?

Imagine working each of them in your hands. There’s a childlike energy and satisfaction that comes from massaging the play-doh. Therapeutic even. 

I hear the Spirit tell us, we can have both. Both plentiful rest and meaningful work. These come from our Heavenly Father. We don’t earn them. You and I can squander them or use them. They benefit each other. We are created for both and they are unique to us. 

So you’re invited to hold them both in separate hands, but I think it gets good and beautiful and uniquely you when you mix the colors together! This coming from a parent who worked so hard to make sure the colors stayed separate and in their own colored containers when the kids were young. 

So go ahead and blend the colors. It’s what happens when plentiful rest meets meaningful work. Something beautiful and uniquely you comes shining through. 

Holy Spirit, be our guide. Fill us with Your wisdom as we work from our rest so we know when to rest from our work.
