The chocolate factory

Friend,

I’ve been reading through the Psalms.

The Lord keeps your life. He wants it. What condition do you have your life in? Is it a full life? An abundant life? Is it a looking-at-Him life? A with-Him life?

Hectic, busy, overly full is more like it, for me.

Do you need to slow down with me? Let’s you and me pause. Let life happen. Let emails and thoughts and ideas come through without having to act on every single one.

I’m dating myself here, but there is a sitcom clip of Lucille Ball working at the chocolate factory with her best friend. For a moment all was well and they were confident. Then the conveyor belt speeds up and they can’t keep up and what you get is a frantic shoving of chocolates in their mouths and down their shirts!

The Lord keeps our lives. Our lives are in His good hands. Why do I want it to speed up or slow down? I want it to slow down when I have made it too full. I want it to speed up when I have made it too dull. The Lord wants our lives, friends. Put your life in His hands. Whether slow or fast, heavy or light, there is a beautiful needed pause that happens when we take a deep breath and appreciate the truth. You are in good hands.
