It’s Good Friday
Friend,
I can really see your face. I see your kindness and I see God’s hand on your shoulder. I see His pleasure over you. He loves you so much. Receive that. It’s so good to write you today. How have you been? You’re welcome to write me back in the comments if you want. You’ve been on my mind for a while. I wonder if you’re loving where you live. If you’ve experienced hardship or crazy life change. Thank you for meeting me here again or for the first time. I’ve nothing profound to give you of my own, but what I have to offer is Jesus who makes us whole and free. It was this day over 2,000 years ago when Jesus died on the cross for me and you and every person to ever live. He did this because He loves you and me. He took on our sins - that’s everything we’ve done wrong against ourselves and others and the perfect and holy God who made us - and died so that we might have life abundantly and eternally. That’s what makes this day good. In the beginning, everything God made, He said was good. But we took the good and with our greed, jealousy, pride, rebellion, unforgiveness, anger, selfishness, humanity through the years has squandered good and lived in darkness. This day, Good Friday, was the darkest day in human history. Jesus bled and died on the cross for me. For you. God’s only Son, Jesus, died for everyone God made, therefore, we say it is good.
It is Good Friday. It is necessary. It is a day we walk through with remembrance. With emotion. With a reality of what I’ve done to lead to the most amazing sacrifice and display of love ever known. Let us remember.
He can really see your face. God’s hand is on your shoulder. His pleasure is over you. He loves you so much. Receive that. It’s so good to write you today. I’ll be here tomorrow as we sit in silence. Join me?
It is good,
Shauna
