Something has already happened

Right where you sit or stand.

A conversation perhaps.

One that went well or one that went bad.

Maybe someone spilled milk

Or sold goods back in the day.

What is true is right where you stand

Has been around much longer than today.

It’s no ordinary bay.

It’s where Paul likely stopped (Acts 21:1)

It was açaí bowls for me and ben that day.

You see, something had already happened.

Now pardon me with this one.

There’s much you can see.

Propped up for some recovery

As we walked many cobblestone roads,

I took a break.

Ben kept exploring.

Do you notice the double welcome mats?

Or you just waiting for the story?

The story of the two women.

Meet Mariana and Isabell.

Mariana was radically saved

and learning the art of coffee

seemed like the best way to engage.

Now Isabell stops by everyday.

Conversing in French is what’s in common.

Conversing about Faith is not.

Mariana intercedes and invited me to do the same that day.

Knowing full well what is possible when Isabell encounters the love of Jesus for herself.

Paul and other Christians have walked these streets

long before Mariana opened up her shop

prayer has been ongoing

and i was delighted to play my part.

we held hands, the two of us knowing

each other for approximately 7 minutes

how my faith exploded

because of Mariana’s faithfulness.

something had already happened,

been stirring in God’s heart

to bring us to the Bible Cafe

when we live worlds apart.

Mariana, were you to ever read these words of mine

I pray Isabell has said yes to Jesus

knowing it’s not just me and you praying anymore.

the Holy Spirit has been kind to put her name

on every heart of every reader

because something has already happened in all of us

so we say, Jesus, free Isabell from a life without You and

lead her to a life with You. Amen.
