Merry Christmas 2025
wrapping up Sabbatical together in Maui, August 2025

Merry Christmas, friends.
As I sit in my chair
and ponder the year
I’m grateful to know a loving God
who sees us and came near.
He gave us Jesus
and if his life example wasn’t enough
Jesus did what no other god has done
He died for me and you out of love
so He could come close
and keep coming close.
Whether you believe this to be true
He sees you
and you are worth so much to Him
and to me.
I pray as you read my words
that His Presence will comfort your soul
and if this peace isn’t your current reality
a deep breath will do you and I some good
for that is a gift - this present moment.
What a gift you are.
What a gift this life is.
Sharing with you three gifts:
The gift of the Holy Spirit in your story and in the Christmas story. Consider a 30 minute listen to a message I gave this Advent season at our church.
The gift of not knowing what to sing and getting to borrow someone else’s words. Worship music is a gift that puts into words what I long to say to Jesus. This song has been on repeat for me this Advent season. Consider sitting with it for 7 minutes.
The gift of a guide for December 26-January 6. Just as Christmas ends Epiphany begins! Consider small readings for the coming week.
Is there a way you connect with God in this season? I welcome your comments. This is a shared and sacred space.
Love,
Shauna
