University Ave. Baptist, thank you for welcoming me and Ben to your church. Thank you for the ways you are sharing Christ in Manoa Valley. You are a very open and receptive people - we see Jesus in you. We pray you continue to keep your eyes and hearts open to who God brings to your community.

You have a wonderful staff who are carrying the mission of UABC forward. As we prayer walked your neighborhoods and University of Hawaii campus, God gave us eyes to see such potential and a beautiful harvest. Thank you for how God is using your very lives to bring His love to Manoa Valley. 

Many of you prayer walked for the first time and we pray it’s not the last! We believe you pray differently when you walk. Keep walking! Then do something with what you see!

A prayer we offer on your behalf:

Spirit of the Living God, have your mighty and outstretched arms upon the people of UABC. Give them courage to engage newcomers, students, and neighbors about life, then community, then faith. May this church be a city on a hill like Carmi proclaimed as his dream for this local body of believers. Draw people in. Send your church out. In the Name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.

Being in the midst of a pandemic, the Live Sent weekend was a refreshing reminder that we can be on mission in our own neighborhoods without needing to get a stamp in our passports. Shauna’s messages and personal stories inspired our church to look for how God is working around us and to join him. The Saturday prayer walks were especially meaningful as we saw our streets through a new lens.
