Talk about Jesus

Friend,

Talking about Jesus doesn’t start off easy. Talking to Jesus is so much easier. So start there today. Talk to Jesus. He’s the best listener and He’s always available.

When we talk to Jesus and it becomes a regular part of our day, talking about Jesus will come about more naturally.

Peter regularly prayed. He talked to God about his life and his friends and his enemies. I believe this because he wouldn’t be so utterly aware of the needs around him without the Spirit of the Living God having his attention.

Talking to God makes you and me more aware of God.

Cornelius regularly prayed. He regularly and generously gave to the poor. Acts 10:2 tells us this. What happens when talk to Jesus? Cornelius’ story is that an angel shows up and gives him specific instructions. I’d like that, wouldn’t you?

It’s fun when we get the whole story - Cornelius prays and decides to obey God. While Cornelius is obeying God, Peter is praying. Can you imagine someone else praying and obeying and that you are a part of the mission?

I was praying regularly with a group of Christians in Northern California. As we prayed together for a network director, I sensed God asking me to respond to apply for this position. How can I be praying for something one minute and the next minute be compelled to obey out of that prayer?

This is why prayer isn’t a side hustle for the Christ follower. Prayer is the most active thing we can do to begin our day and throughout our day. I’m learning that prayer is how God gets things done. Prayer is where our conversation begins with Jesus. Prayer is how we talk to others about Jesus.

So pray if you haven’t yet.

Jesus, I want to know You more. I want to hear from You and spend a few minutes in Your presence. Fill me with Your Spirit. I want to be filled with Your love and walk with You today. Come Holy Spirit.

Talking about Jesus just might get easier.

Learning with you,

Shauna
